We offer several opportunities for study…
We have been sponsoring Tuesday Dialogue since 2006. It was founded by Rev. Gordon Stewart, and modeled on the Westminster Town Hall Forum. Tuesday Dialogues are not church events; They are a safe, non-judgmental place to share thoughts and ideas about issues that affect the family, community, nation, environment, world. We talk about ethics and current events, and also feature amazing people. We have had guests like Native American leader Clyde Bellecourt, Poet Joyce Sutphen, Paul Douglas, and Supreme Court Justice Paul Anderson. Topics include Sustainable Energy, Stewardship of the Planet; governmental issues like Getting Money out of Politics; the Affordable Care Act; an interfaith discussion of Forgiveness; and Marital First Responders. Get on our email list to be notified of upcoming discussions!
Adult Study, or the Roundtable Talkback as some call it, takes place every Sunday morning before the worship service at 9:15 a.m. Topics of study vary widely, with everything from guest speakers or video lectures on subjects such as the Dakota Indians, Sex Trafficking, Celtic Spirituality, what it means to be a More Light congregation, Racism in Minnesota, and so much more! All are welcome to join in whenever they can!!
Wise Guys Bible Study
The Wise Guys Bible study group meets every Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. for a college-level inquiry into the nature of what the Bible is and how to interpret it. The group uses the Access Study Bible, and despite the deeper subject matter being discussed, the group remains open and accessible to anyone interested in studying the Bible–whether it’s your first study or your 20th! There is no homework, so anyone can join in at any time!!
